Using Revit to create a 3D model

For this unusual project, Philip Goacher Associates used Revit to create a 3D model for four semi-detached houses at a disused reservoir at Christ’s Hospital.

The reservoir was an unreinforced concrete building with substantial external walls and a roof approximately 300mm thick. Whilst the roof would have to be removed in its entirety for the proposals, the external walls could be retained and the internal structural elements used for the new buildings.

We designed four new build semi-detached houses, three storeys high, with ground and first floor living areas and a basement for storage.

This was a fun project and allowed our Structural Engineers to get stuck into Revit, a great 3D modelling tool.
